This "mature" lady came into our house in June 1999. Her owners were moving house and couldn't take her with them. She had been well cared for and was in good condition. Her previous owners had a cat so she was always exercised in a ball but in our house all the hammies run free. When we first put her on the carpet, she wouldn't move. She was rooted to the spot. We encouraged her to explore but she wasn't very happy about it. However after about a week, she found her courage and never looked back! She was a very happy lady right up to the end of November (1999) when she died peacefully in her sleep aged 33 months.
