PANGBOURNE 14.06.2003
A very hot weekend although the nights were very
cool (we slept in the tent). Many thanks to our judges Joanna Roach (Syrian)
and Sarah Charmley (Dwarf). A reasonable 72 Syrians but a disappointing 17
Dwarfs made up our entry. Also thanks to the book stewards, Sue Carter and
Esther Hornett and all those who put in some time pen stewarding. The sales
team did their usual excellent job and Julie-Anne did a Tombola. Joshua Rowe
did a sterling job assisting me with show secing as did Joanna.
It must be remembered that at two or three day Public Shows we get the venue
FREE on the understanding that there is something of interest to see for the
PAYING PUBLIC until the close of the show. Therefore on a show day the show
hamsters should remain in view until a reasonable time.
Thanks must also be given to all those members that helped on the second day
(with the display and sales) without whose help we could not run the second
day and would thus lose these valuable venues.
